Managing Partner
Karan leads KNS Advisors and is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. A Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, he brings over ten years of experience in tax and regulatory advisory, including five years with a Big 4 consulting firm, where he built a strong foundation in complex tax litigation and cross-border advisory work.
He specialises in tax litigation and transaction advisory, with expertise spanning corporate and international tax, exchange control regulations, GST, tax treaties, BEPS, MLI and transfer pricing. Karan has advised leading domestic and multinational corporates, start-ups and high-net-worth individuals across a range of matters — from tax litigation and corporate structuring to unilateral and bilateral APAs and advance rulings — helping clients work through complex regulatory environments with practical, business-focused solutions. He regularly represents clients before Tax Tribunals, the Commissioner (Appeals) and the Dispute Resolution Panel on domestic and international tax disputes.
Karan is closely associated with the International Tax Committee and Board of Studies of ICAI, and has contributed to key ICAI publications including Non-resident Taxation and BEPS & International Tax. He writes regularly on developments in international tax, with articles published by ICAI, AIFTP and IFA, and has spoken at seminars hosted by ICAI, CAA, ITBA, Nirma University and other professional forums — staying closely engaged with the profession and the regulatory developments that shape his clients' strategies.
Partner
Niyati is a Chartered Accountant with over seven years of experience across individual taxation, withholding tax, international taxation, audit and tax litigation. At KNS, she leads client work on corporate tax advisory, compliance and litigation, and has handled complex individual and corporate tax matters involving the interplay of international and domestic taxation, including withholding tax. She specialises in cross-border business and transaction structuring — including setting up entities across jurisdictions — while navigating the interplay of tax and regulatory considerations, and has hands-on experience on several notable corporate litigation matters, successfully defending clients.
Earlier in her career, she worked with a reputed firm on international taxation matters, including withholding tax and structuring overseas business transactions, and contributed to the firm's publications. She has also worked with one of India's fastest-growing fintech start-ups, supporting individuals on tax planning, advisory and filing, and contributing articles on taxation. Niyati is active in the professional ecosystem — regularly participating in conferences, seminars and tax conclaves, serving on the MoC (Master of Ceremonies) team at ICAI-hosted events, and delivering guest lectures on taxation at colleges and universities across the country.
